Patriots' Path Council offers lots of planned fun activities throughout the year for Cub Scouts. Get outside of your regular meetings, and join us at one or more of these great programs. Many of them are designed for dens. Some are suitable for entire packs and others are also available to individual Cub Scouts and families.

Staten Island Yankees Saturday August 2 at 7pm. The team is a class A affiliate of the NY Yankees. They are offering two Scout days with discounted baseball tickets and a patch. Post-game free raffle for SI and NY Yankee memorabilia Post-game sleepover on the field featuring a movie on the big screen. All kids 12& under run the bases after the game. Post-game fireworks. Rutgers Football Scout Night September 27, 2014. All Scouts are welcome to participate in Scout day when Rutgers takes on Tulane. Tickets $35.

Insectropolis - Scout group visits Groups can tour the museum at their own pace, touch presentations offered Saturdays. Admission $7 per visitor($5 for groups of 15 or more). Guided tours additional.

Museum of Early Trades and Crafts Programs offered all year for Cub Scout dens to complete requirements.

Magic Week - STEM at Camp Wheeler   August 4-8, 2014 (week 6) at Camp Wheeler. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are incorporated in fun and interactive ways. Activities include robotics, model rockets, radio controlled vehicles, crafts, nature, pool, BB guns, archery, boating, mountain bikes, Scoutcraft, bridge construction, NOVA awards and more.

Family Camping/Cubelos

Whether it is called a Cub Camporee, Cub-e-los, or Cub Family Camping, each district offers a fall and spring weekend. Programs and activities vary by district and date, but everyone will have a great time.

Fishawack Fall Cubelos  October 18-19, 2014 at Camp Somers. Events include Rock Throwing, BB Safety (beltloop), BB Shooting (beltloop), Fishing Derby (beltloop), Knots, Intro to Knife Safety, Fire Safety, Historic Hike, and Campfire with skits and songs, and more! Each pack will provide volunteers to help run stations. Saturday dinner in the dining hall. Each pack plans its own lunch and breakfast. Cub Scout Fun

In addition to the Cub Family Camporees, districts conduct Cub events throughout the year. District web sites and monthly district roundtables are a great source of information for pack and den leaders. Be sure to bookmark your district web site.

Rocket Launch at North Branch Park, Bridgewater July 19, 2014 - 9am-2pm. - includes rocket and patch. Open to everyone - Scouts and non-Scouts - boys and girls from K-5th grade.

The Great Pumpkin October 25 and 26, 2014. Teams of 7-10 people will explore Camp Wheeler while finding and counting pumpkins throughout the camp. It is fun for the entire family and all participants receive a goodie bag to take home.

Fright Night October 25, 2014 at Winnebago Scout Reservation. A scary and fun family adventure for everyone including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and their families. Winnebago is transformed once a year from a peaceful Scout camp into a haunted Halloween play land filled with witches, ghosts, goblins and other surprises. $5 adults, $3 youth.

EVENTS: There will be at least six individual events scored by rank (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, 1st Year Webelos and 2nd Year Webelos). Events may include doubles dash, broad jump, crab walk, lay-ups, cart race, rain gutter regatta and others.

Klondikes- the following district Klondikes are open to Webelos and will have special activities for Webelos.

Raritan Klondike Saturday, February 7, 2015. The Raritan Valley district Klondike includes activities for both Webelos I and Arrow of Light (II) Cub Scouts. This is a great opportunity for your Webelos to be part of one of the major annual Boy Scout Troop events. Feedback from previous Webelos participants has been extremely positive (3.9 out of 4.0).

Lincoln Caverns Programs all year - earn Geologist badge, earn jr. cave exploring patch, geocaching program, camping and exploring the caverns, camping.

Museum of Early Trades and Crafts Programs offered all year for Webelos - work on Craftsman badge.

Weekend Camping

Packs are invited to camp with us on weekends in the spring, winter and fall. We have cabins and tent sites available and we can also provide weekend programs.  Visit the weekend camping page for details.

Weekday Den Programs at
Patriots' Path Camps

Weekday after school programs at Allamuchy include BB guns, archery, historic trail and site hikes, cooking, knots and compass.

Historic Trails

New Jersey is full of history and we have several historic trails that let Scouts explore that history. Several historic trail hikes are suitable for Cub Scouts.


Jockey Hollow Trail  has a 5 mile Cub Scout trail at Morristown National Historical Park

Victory Trail -pick your own date to hike this historic 13 mile urban trail from Elizabeth, NJ to Springfield, NJ. The route follows the British advance into New Jersey that was stopped at the Battle of Springfield. View the trail map Complete the hike questionnaire and order medals online.

Winnebago  has a Cub Scout historic trail - 2 miles

Allamuchy offers a guided weekday or self-guided weekend 4-5 mile hike and a shorter historic site hike.
