Patriots' Path Council offers lots of planned fun activities throughout the year for Cub Scouts. Get outside of your regular meetings, and join us at one or more of these great programs. Many of them are designed for dens. Some are suitable for entire packs and others are also available to individual Cub Scouts and families.

Monster Jam June 13, 2015 Fans have the chance to see the trucks up-close and in person, meet the drivers, get autographs, and take pictures. Food, beverage and merchandise are available for purchase.

Sporting Events

Many local sports teams offer special Scout events. They often include discount admission and special programs.

Staten Island Yankees Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 7pm. The team is a class A affiliate of the NY Yankees. They are offering two Scout days with discounted baseball tickets and a patch. Post-game free raffle for SI and NY Yankee memorabilia Post-game sleepover on the field featuring a movie on the big screen. All kids 12& under run the bases after the game. Post-game fireworks. We're STEMulating Young Minds into STEM Scholars

Neil Armstrong. Marie Curie. Alexander Graham Bell. Before they changed the world, they played. They let their curiosity loose. They explored their world. Explore your world this summer at the Summer STEM Institute run by the Patriots' Path Council, open to all boys and girls entering grades 3-5 this September. Space is limited.

Blue Mountain Adventure Camp

Blue Mountain
Give your child a summer filled with adventures at Blue Mountain Frontier Adventure Camp! Blue Mountain Frontier Adventure Camp is a fun-filled program aimed to help your child connect with nature, while building confidence, self-esteem and lifelong friendships. Day Camp, for children 8 to 14 years old, runs weekly from June 29 - August 10th from 9am - 5pm. Resident camp is geared toward children 10 to 14 years old and takes place the weeks of July 13 and July 20.

Activities include high ropes courses, climbing walls, ziplines, kayaking, archery, outdoor laser tag and more. There are off-site field trips for horseback riding and whitewater rafting. Resident campers also get to experience Blue after dark, which includes night hiking and star gazing. Blue Mountain Frontier Adventure Camp allows campers to choose a "track" based on their personalities and interests. The Cougar Track focuses on athletics, the Bear Track is for curious learners and the Fox Track is designed for creative and crafty campers. Choose your child's track and sign up for a summer of outdoor fun in the Poconos.

Cub Scout Fun


Districts and council conduct many Cub Scout fun events throughout the year. District websites and monthly district roundtables are a great source of information for pack and den leaders. Be sure to bookmark your district website.


Black River, Fishawack, Munsee, Raritan Valley, Sussex, Watchung Mountain


Fishawack Gold Rush   A rip-roaring time, June 7, 2015 at Wild West City at Central School in East Hanover, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Cub Scouts will test the skills they learned in earning their latest rank. Dens can bring their own wagon or you can mix boys of different ranks. One person should register all boys from your pack. Rocket Launch at North Branch Park, Bridgewater July 18, 2015 - 9am-2pm. - includes rocket and patch. Open to everyone - Scouts and non-Scouts - boys and girls from K-5th grade. Great membership recruitment event!

Fishing Tournament   Saturday, May 9, 2015, 8am-3pm at Winnebago. Parents and sons are invited to join us for the Robert Tunnell Memorial Fishing Tournament. $30 per person -lunch is included.

Activities for 4th and 5th grade boys

Weekend Camping

Packs are invited to camp with us on weekends in the spring, winter and fall. We have cabins and tent sites available and we can also provide weekend programs.  Visit the weekend camping page for details.

Family Camping/Cubelos

Whether it is called a Cub Camporee, Cub-e-los, or Cub Family Camping, each district offers a fall and spring weekend. Programs and activities vary by district and date, but everyone will have a great time.

Watchung Mountain Spring Cub Family Camporee  May 15-17, 2015 at Winnebago Scout Reservation. Activities to include: BB, Archery, Fishing Derby, Climbing Wall, Cubmobiles, Hiking, campfire, Wood Kit Building Class, Whittling Chip class, Webelos Readyman and Skills Classes, Row Boating, Stomp Rockets, Craft/Service Project and many more activities and special guests.
$16 per person.

Munsee Spring Cubelos Weekend.  June 5-7, 2015 at Allamuchy Scout Reservation.
Outwin! - Outplay! - Outlast! Come join us at this year's "Survivor" themed weekend with plenty of adventure for attending families!

Sussex Spring Cub Family Camporee  June 5-7, 2014 . A fun-filled weekend of Cub family excitement for the whole district including Archery, BB, Crafts, Fishing, Fire Building, Hiking, Map & Compass and much, much more!

Historic Trails

New Jersey is full of history and we have several historic trails that let Scouts explore that history. Several historic trail hikes are suitable for Cub Scouts.


Jockey Hollow Trail  has a 5 mile Cub Scout trail at Morristown National Historical Park

Victory Trail  -pick your own date to hike this historic 13 mile urban trail from Elizabeth, NJ to Springfield, NJ. The route follows the British advance into New Jersey that was stopped at the Battle of Springfield. View the trail map Complete the hike questionnaire and order medals online.

Winnebago  has a Cub Scout historic trail - 2 miles

Allamuchy offers a guided weekday or self-guided weekend 4-5 mile hike and a shorter historic site hike.
