Patriots' Path Council offers lots of planned fun activities throughout the year for Cub Scouts. Get outside of your regular meetings, and join us at one or more of these great programs. Many of them are designed for dens. Some are suitable for entire packs and others are also available to individual Cub Scouts and families.

Insectropolis - Scout BugOut at Insectropolis every third Wednesday of the month October-May. Scouts can visit and explore or work toward badges. Cost $7 per visitor. Call 732-349-7090 for reservations.
Also, open during school breaks with special programming.

Insectropolis - Scout group visits Groups can tour the museum at their own pace, touch presentations offered Saturdays. Admission $7 per visitor($5 for groups of 15 or more). Guided tours additional.

Lincoln Caverns Programs all year - earn belt loops, pins, geocaching and more.
Winter Blues Got You Down? Consider planning a winter program at Lincoln Caverns. Individual Pack/Troop/Group Programs.

Museum of Early Trades and Crafts Programs offered all year for Cub Scout dens to complete requirements.

Ripley's Scout Super Hero Sleepover program at Ripley's New York. Whether it is called a Cub Camporee, Cub-e-los, or Cub Family Camping, each district offers a fall and spring weekend. Programs and activities vary by district and date, but everyone will have a great time.

Watchung Mountain Spring Cub Family Camporee May 16-18, 2014 Join us for a weekend of fun and adventure. Bring a friend and show him what Scouting is all about.

Black River Spring Cub Family Camporee  May 30-June 1, 2014 at Camp Somers at Allamuchy Scout Reservation. Join us for a great weekend in the outdoors.

Munsee Spring Cub Family Camporee  May 30-31, 2014 at Winnebago Scout Reservation. Join us for a great weekend in the outdoors.

Sussex Spring Cub Family Camporee  June 13-15, 2014 at Rickey Farms. A fun-filled weekend of Cub family excitement for the whole district.

Cub Scout Fun

In addition to the Cub Family Camporees, districts conduct Cub events throughout the year. District web sites and monthly district roundtables are a great source of information for pack and den leaders. Be sure to bookmark your district web site.

Spring Fun Day Spring camp activity day. Beaver Day Sunday, April 27 at Allamuchy

Fishawack Gold Rush   A rip-roaring time, June 8, 2014 at Wild West City in Stanhope, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Cub Scouts will test the skills they learned in earning their latest rank. Dens can bring their own wagon or you can mix boys of different ranks. Wild West City is open 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, so come early or stay late. Online registration will open in April through the Fishawack Calendar. One person should register all boys from your pack.

Rocket Launch at North Branch Park, Bridgewater, NJ July 19, 2014 - 9am-2pm. - includes rocket and patch. Open to everyone - Scouts and non-Scouts - boys and girls from K-5th grade.

Weekend Camping

Packs are invited to camp with us on weekends in the spring, winter and fall. We have cabins and tent sites available and we can also provide weekend programs.  Visit the weekend camping page for details.

Weekday Den Programs at
Patriots' Path Camps

Weekday after school programs at Allamuchy include BB guns, archery, historic trail and site hikes, cooking, knots and compass.

Historic Trails

New Jersey is full of history and we have several historic trails that let Scouts explore that history. Several historic trail hikes are suitable for Cub Scouts.


Jockey Hollow Trail  has a 5 mile Cub Scout trail at Morristown National Historical Park

Victory Trail -pick your own date to hike this historic 13 mile urban trail from Elizabeth, NJ to Springfield, NJ. The route follows the British advance into New Jersey that was stopped at the Battle of Springfield. View the trail map Complete the hike questionnaire and order medals online.

Winnebago  has a Cub Scout historic trail - 2 miles

Allamuchy offers a guided weekday or self-guided weekend 4-5 mile hike and a shorter historic site hike.
